The roms-hunter.com privacy policy
On this page, we'll explain in simple terms what data we collect, why we do it, how we use it, and whether someone else might have access to that data. Let's start with the basics.
How do we collect data?
To improve the user experience, we use an analytics service called Google Analytics.
What kind of data do we collect?
By installing the Google Analytics code, we have access to the information this service collects. In order not to overload you with information, let's list a few basic items:
- Your approximate location (region, country);
- Source of visit and time of visit;
- Age, gender, interests;
- Information about the device from which you accessed: screen size, browser;
For more information, you can explore the official website at: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/11593727?hl=en
Moreover, our server has the ability to record logs of visits, which contain the IP address, page, date and user-agent of the user. This data is only available to us and not to the hosting provider or any other third parties.
What are cookies?
When you visit a website, your browser generates files known as cookies on your hard drive (or SSD). These files can store site settings, visit data (time of visit, number of visits) and other important parameters for analytics.
How do we use cookies?
We would like to clarify that we do not utilize cookies stored on your computer. Cookies serve the purpose of storing site settings by your browser and gathering information as described in the preceding paragraph through our analytics service, Google Analytics.
How do we use the collected data?
We use the Google Analytics tool to better understand your need for the site and present it to you in a more useful way. For example, we may look at the sequence of pages you've visited in a single session, and the duration, so we can analyze them to provide more useful information.
We can also analyze the duration of the session. For example, if the session is very short, or if a lot of visitors are coming out to the same page, then there is something wrong with it and we need to optimize it for you. These are two small examples of how we use data from analytics.
Do we share data with third parties?
Our site does not collect credit card data, there is no shopping option on our site. In addition, Google Analytics does not collect sensitive data, and accordingly, neither do we. However, we do not pass on the data that we do have to third parties. It is only used by us and only to optimize the site.
